Davenport Downwinder Race 2012

Morgan Hoesterey

Vertra paddlers’s Morgan Hoesterey (Hawaii), Matt Becker (Santa Barbara) and Jack Bark (Palos Verdes) found success on the 14-mile downwind coastal course. The downwind course lived up to its reputation with 15-20 knot winds along the Santa Cruz coastline. The race starts from Davenport Landing to Cowell’s Beach.

Matt Becker was 1st across the line in yesterday’s downwind race winning the enitre SUP division on his 14′ Joe Bark race board. Morgan Hoesterey dominated the women’s division (1st Place) in addition to coming across the finish line 5th overall. The young Jack bark continued his reign of dominance in California and took top honors in the Men’s paddleboard division!
