Ryan Dolan- USA National Team
Ryan Dolan (Kailua Born) is in Poland for this weekend’s Sprint Kayaking World Cup #1. Dolan will be competing for the one and only Olympic Men’s Sprint Kayaking Slot in the K1 200 meter event. This world cup marks the final event for the Men’s U.S.A Kayaking Team. There will be Sixty-Seven countries represented at this weekend’s World Cup.
In order to Qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games…Ryan must make it to the B-Final or better round of the competition. He must also beat out fellow U.S.A kayaker Tim Hornsby. Which ever athlete finishes in a higher placing will secure the selection slot…so long as the make it to the B-Final round or better. If neither athlete advances to the B-Final round or better then World Cup #2 will be the new race venue for Olympic Selection.

Ryan will begin his racing Saturday afternoon (Central European Summer Time) Finals are scheduled for Sunday. Poland is 12 hours ahead of Hawaii Standard Time.
Day 1 of racing will consist of 6 heats. In order to advance out of the heat, Ryan must place within the top 6 to make it into the semifinal. Anything less than top 6 in the heat will result in being eliminated from the event.
Ryan will start off in Heat 6 of 6 in the Men’s K1 200 meter heats on Saturday at 2:50 pm (CEST) (Saturday 2:50 am HST)
The Semifinal will begin on Saturday at 5:25 pm (CEST) (Saturday 5:25 am HST)
The Finals will being on Sunday at 9:12 am (CEST) (Saturday 9:12 pm HST)
