Malibu Downwinder Recap

The 2011 Honolua Malibu Downwinder proved to be a successful event once again this year.  With forecasted south winds prior to Saturdays event, conditions were looking dismal.  However at 10am Saturday morning the winds shifted, allowing for a typical Californian downwind race to take place. “This is one of my favorite events of the year,” commented Honolua’s Eric Mehlberg.  In a grassroots style event competiotors were treated to burittos, Joe Bark coveted homemade Salsa and cold Primo Beers at the finish.
