Anthony Vela Wins Carolina Cup SUP Event

The newest addition to the Vertra paddling team, Anthony Vela takes the win and $2000 last weekend at the Carolina Cup SUP event at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.  The 12 mile elite race took Vela 2:15:03 seconds to complete. “It’s great to get a win like that under your belt,” commented Vela “keeps the momentum going as Battle of the Paddle Hawaii approaches in a few weeks.” 16 year old Matt Becker finished 11th overall and John Becker finished 15th and won the 50+ age group!

Anthony, Matt and John will be competing in the 2011 Battle of the Paddle Hawaii on May 14th-15th along with Vertra teammates Danny Ching, Riggs Naopoleon, Gillian Gibree, Morgan Hoesterey, Scott Gamble and Travis Grant.
