Pat Dolan and Kai Bartlett World Record Holders!

Pat Dolan and Kai Bartlett made history in the Kaiwi Channel last weekend for the 2012 PA’A Kaiwi Channel OC1 Relay. In  a highly competitive field of paddling athletes, Bartlett and Dolan finished on top in record fashion. The duo completed the channel in an astounding 4 hours 21 minutes and 40 seconds (4:21:40) “It was a great channel,” commented Dolan after the win “we were lucky with the ocean conditions.” Pat has been paddling Kai’s boats since he was in his teens training out of Kailua.

Danny Ching who competed in both the Quiksiver Waikiki Paddle Festival as well as the OC1 relay finished 3rd overall in a time of 4:32:11. Danny and his Partner Will Reichenstein were the defending relay champions from last year.

Lauren Bartlett continued her string of dominance in the Kaiwi channel by winning this years relay event with her paddling partner Dane Ward. They completed the channel in 5:06:21. Lauren recently won the women’s OC1 Solo World Championships just a few weeks ago.
